Questions and answers
The questions we get
Here are the answers to what people actually ask us, the uncomfortable questions included.
If your question is not here, write it in your application or send us an email. We answer personally.
About the programme
What is StiveStride?
An accelerator programme. A company taken in receives 500,000 SEK in capital, Swedish kronor, plus four months alongside us, coaching, mentoring, workshops and leadership training.
How long is the programme?
Four months per intake. We take in five companies per intake and run two intakes a year.
Where does it happen?
It is hybrid. The sessions in person are held in Stockholm or Gothenburg, the rest is remote. You can apply from anywhere in the country.
Who can apply?
Anyone building something. You write the application yourself, in your own words, and that is form enough. We read it as it is.
Does the company have to be registered?
No. Something already under construction is enough, and a team without a registered company yet is welcome to apply. Write where you stand.
When is the next intake?
No date is set. Applications are open all year and we read them as they arrive. If you come into consideration we will be in touch about timing.
What does it cost to apply?
Nothing.
Do you name the participants?
No. Participants are not named publicly. If a company wants to tell its own story, that is the company's own decision.
The pace we hold
About the capital
How much capital does a company get?
500,000 SEK. The same level in both groups.
What form does the capital take?
The form is not decided yet. The amount is fixed, 500,000 SEK, and the terms are written into the agreement with each company.
Do you take an ownership stake?
The terms are written into the agreement with the company taken in, and they are settled together with the founders before anything starts.
Is the capital paid out all at once?
The pace is written into the agreement. We put the money in at a pace the company survives, so that the capital lasts all the way through the four months and a stretch beyond them.
What does 500,000 SEK cover?
That depends on the monthly cost and the revenue. On the capital page there is a calculator where you enter your own numbers and see how many months the capital holds.
Is the programme EU funded?
No. The capital comes from Daylited, and the platform and tools from GADDR. There is no public money in the programme.
What we do is help you with the EU side as far as we reasonably can: which rules apply to what you build, how you sell across borders inside the union, and which EU and national support you can apply for. You apply in your own name, and we help you write it.
Facklan, and why it exists
The same programme, the same capital, with extra support built in.
Facklan is open for anyone to apply to. It exists because some obstacles are real and cost time that has nothing to do with the company: accessibility, language, the route through Swedish authorities and rules, and a network that does not assume you already have one.
Founders with disabilities, women, and people newly arrived in Sweden who want to establish themselves here are especially welcome, and the support is built for them. This is an invitation. Every place is open to everyone who applies, and what decides is what you are building.
We name the obstacles openly and keep the people out of it. You say what support you need, and we build the programme around it.
About Maraton and Facklan
What is the difference between Maraton and Facklan?
Maraton is the main route and it is open to everyone who is building something. Facklan is the same programme with extra support built in. The capital is the same in both.
Is Facklan only for certain people?
No. It is open for anyone to apply to, and the support is there for obstacles that are real.
Do you sort anyone out?
No.
Every place is open to everyone who applies. We read what you are building and what support you need, and those two things are what decide.
What do I choose if both groups fit?
Choose whichever comes closest in the list, or Not sure yet. The choice does not bind you. If we see that the other group fits better we move the application there and tell you why.
Do I have to tell you about my disability?
No. You state what support you need and nothing more. We never ask for a diagnosis and we require no certificates.
Does Facklan get less capital because the support costs more?
No. 500,000 SEK applies in both groups. The support sits on top of the capital.
The flame and the dawn
About applying and about your details
How do I apply?
Through the form on the application page. Write what you are building and where you stand. There is also a short form in the footer of every page.
How quickly will I get an answer?
We answer personally. Every application is read by us, and the answer comes once it has been read properly.
What happens to my details?
They are used to handle your application and for nothing else. The data controller is Daylited AB, company registration number 559593-4240.
The application is kept while we handle it, and for at most twelve months after we have made a decision. Then it is deleted. If you want it deleted sooner, we do that without delay.
The applications sit on our own servers and the confirmation email goes through our own mail server. The full text is on the page about your details.
Does the site set cookies?
No. The site sets no cookies and has no tracking.
Can I have my details removed?
Yes. Email [email protected] and we delete the application without delay. You do not have to give a reason.
Can I apply again if I get a no?
Yes. Applications are open all year, and a no applies to that intake.
Here is how it stands
What we cannot answer yet
The programme is new. We say that out loud, because you should be able to rely on every figure and every promise on the rest of the site.
We have no outcomes to show. No companies that have raised capital after us, no survival rates, no testimonials from earlier participants. There is nothing to quote, so we quote nothing. The day we have figures that hold, they will stand here with the calculation next to them.
We do not name participants and we do not name mentors. No company names, no founders, no logos in a grid. If you want to know what it is like to go through the programme, ask us, and we will answer as well as we can without giving out anyone else's name.
The form the capital takes is not decided. The amount is decided, and the terms are written into the agreement with each company.
No date is set for the next intake. Applications are open all year, and we will be in touch when we know more.
We write this instead of sounding as though we had the answers. A programme meant to hold for four months can manage an honest first page, and you get to judge us on what we actually describe.
Still one question left?
Write it in your application, or email us at [email protected]. Applications are open all year and we answer personally.
